Since aosus started, it was always one of our most important goals to be officially incorporated.
And today we are announcing a step towards this goal
Aosus has now non-profit 501(c)(3) status in the U.S. thanks to our fiscal sponsor HCBone of the projects of The Hack foundation (d.b.a Hack Club)Which fiscally sponsors us and made this legal status possible.

Advantages

Aosus was fiscally sponsored by the Open Source Collective, but recent changes forced us to look for a new sponsor, and with that come additional advantages!

Tax deductible donations

This is the biggest advantage for donors from the U.S., as our new 501(c)(3) status makes donations tax deductible.

More independence

Our new legal status is more detailed and independent, which allows aosus to be represented as an organization in our accounts and to other companies and Organizations, which helps our financial and legal independence.

This won't have an impact on our financial transparency, you can find our financial records on our page on HCB

Thanks for following us and participating in the Aosus community, we updated our support us page and added alternative options to support aosus like referral links, in addition to donating through HCB.
